Congress acting downright childish about government shutdown

This bad: When senators from both parties gathered over the weekend to privately discuss how to end the government shutdown, they were forced to resort to using a "talking stick." Hold the talking stick, only you can talk. Everyone else has to put on their listening hats. Published January 23, 2018

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California dubbed the tax cut legislation that Republicans passed Tuesday "the worst bill to ever come to the floor of the House." (Associated Press) ** FILE **

Tax cut bill little help to middle class

Congress passed a $1.5 trillion tax-cut bill Tuesday, but you won't be seeing too much of that cash. The bill cuts rates for corporations and gives new tax breaks to private businesses, but you ... yeah, not so much. Published December 19, 2017

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, called her colleagues to arms against Republican tax reform she says will "raise taxes on the middle class before the American people can see the damage it will cause." (Associated Press)

Nancy Pelosi excuses sexual harassment — for Democrats, anyway

The top Democrat in the House seems to be in a perpetual state of confusion, loses her train of thought in mid-sentence often, and just seems out of it most of the time. And when she is able to string together a coherent thought, it's just weird. Published November 28, 2017

Donald Trump triumphs in Asia — media talks handshakes, goldfish

President Trump just completed a 12-day trip to Asia, his first as the most powerful man in the world. By all accounts, the trip was a resounding triumph. Strike that. By all accounts OVER THERE, the trip was a resounding success. Published November 14, 2017

George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush bash Donald Trump

In surprisingly undiplomatic terms for elder statesmen, George W. Bush and his father, George H.W. Bush, bash President Trump in a soon-to-be released book. While both of the former presidents vowed when they left office not to speak ill of their successors -- a pledge they've kept for the most part -- there's just something about Donald J. Trump that they can't stand. Published November 7, 2017

Nathan Larson

Nathan Larson, thanks to Terry McAuliffe, now felon running for office

Once upon a time, a governor elected by the people for the people decided that anyone who had ever committed a felony -- like murder and rape and, maybe, threatening to kill the president of the United States -- should be treated just like a law-abiding citizen. With the stroke of a pen, he restored voting rights to thousands and thousands of ex-felons. Published October 31, 2017

Trump bashing by media unfair, Jimmy Carter says

Jimmy Carter, born in 1924, is finally cutting loose. He's been pounding nails for the last 40 years with Habitat for Humanity (OK, and working toward world peace and winning the Nobel Prize), but he's finally comfortable telling it just like it is. Published October 24, 2017

Polls and analyses were already reporting that there was media bias against the presidential hopeful, and the findings have continued. (Associated Press)

New York Times editor admits paper is very, very (very) biased

The muckity mucks in the liberal media pshaw the claim like you've said the sun rises in the west. Big wigs across the massive media conglomerates repeat the denial until they're blue in the face: There is no liberal bias in the media, they say. Published October 17, 2017

President Trump spent much time before his election criticizing former President Barack Obama for spending what he said was too much time away from the White House on golf courses, and using taxpayer moneys to fund such excursions. However, once in office, Mr. Trump has made many similar golf outings. (Associated Press photographs)

Donald Trump golf score of 73 drives haters crazy

Kim Jong-il, the late supreme leader of North Korea, was one heckuva golfer. He only played once, in 1994, and he reportedly shot a 38-under-par round on the country's only golf course, including 11 holes-in-one (although some reports say he only had five). That's right: Par was 72; he shot a 34. His worst score all round long was a birdie. Published October 10, 2017

Democrats scramble to paint Puerto Rico as Trump’s Katrina

Even before the storm hit the U.S. territory, home to some 3.5 million people, President Trump declared a federal emergency for the island, putting into action a massive rescue-and-relief plan and freeing up millions in aid. The federal government dispatched the military and throngs of first responders to the Caribbean island, along with tons of water and food. Published October 3, 2017

Even the Miss America pageant is political now

In this day and age, when every single Hollywood award ceremony and every daytime talk show and even TV commercials are now political, of course it makes sense that beauty pageants should be, too. Published September 12, 2017
