Bidding ended for Japanese star pitcher Yu Darvish at 5 p.m. Wednesday, and the Washington Nationals are among a handful of teams that are thought to have submitted a bid. Darvish’s team, the Nippon Ham Fighters, has four days to decide the winning team, and that major league team will have 30 days to then negotiate a contract with the right-hander. (Associated Press)
