The moon viewed from the International Space Station orbiting 200 miles above Earth is still another 238,700 miles away. A team of former NASA executives is offering countries a two-person trip to the moon, either for research or national prestige — for a cool $1.5 billion. “It’s not about being first. It’s about joining the club,” former NASA associate administrator Alan Stern said. “We’re kind of cleaning up what NASA did in the 1960s.
