The 42-year marriage of Danuta and Lech Walesa was strained as when his leadership of Poland's Solidarity movement took him away from their family. Mrs. Walesa says in an upcoming autobiography that she paid a huge price for her husband's struggle against communism, talking publicly for the first time about her loneliness and fear for the family's unity as her husband gained worldwide recognition with his political work.
