Sorry, secularists, you ain’t killing Christmas

A new poll from Pew Research Center's Religion & Public Life finds most Americans see a decline in the religious aspect of Christmas, and that an ever-shrinking majority think the whole Jesus-Christ-born-in-a-manger reason for the season is just bunk -- fairy-tale fallacy. Well bah humbug to that. Let's say we kick the secularists to the curb on this one. Published December 19, 2017

Hollywood actresses to wear black dresses, to protest harassment — at black-tie affair

What courage, what bravery, what an unmitigated bold stroke of in-your-face protest -- Hollywood actresses attending the 2018 Golden Globes have agreed to don black for the event, to send a solidarity-sistah message around the world that goes like this: Thou shalt not sexually harass. Wait a moment, isn't this a black-tie affair, anyway? Published December 19, 2017

Luis Elizondo, ex-Pentagon UFO hunter: ‘We may not be alone’

A former Pentagon official who oversaw its highly secretive Unidentified Flying Object -- yes, UFO -- program said on CNN to host Erin Burnett that Americans may have been having visitors from afar for quite some time. And that the government has kept it quite on the hush-and-hush. Oh great, just what we need. With all the government Section 702 secrecy, all the government FISA court curiosities, all the government Russia collusion crap going on -- another government secret. Published December 19, 2017

‘Jingle Bells’ racist — and Rudolph’s a Commie

The age-old Christmastime favorite "Jingle Bells" is now racist, according to a Boston University professor, who claimed in a paper -- make that "Paper" -- that its first public performance was done with blackface actors. Poor Massachusetts. First Elizabeth "Pocohontas" Warren; now Kyna Hamill, theater historian. Published December 18, 2017

Linda Sarsour accused of sex abuse cover-up

Linda Sarsour, one of Islam's greatest propagandists and, oddly enough -- given the Muslim religion's overall doggy way of treating women -- one of Feminist World's emerging heroines, has been accused of bullying a sexual abuse victim into silence. Well now, isn't this a twist. Published December 18, 2017

People pass by the set of Today Show during the broadcast Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, in New York. NBC News says longtime "Today" show host Matt Lauer has been fired for "inappropriate sexual behavior." Co-host Savannah Guthrie made the announcement at the top of Wednesday's show. Adultery is not sexual harassment

Addie Zinone, a former production assistant for the "Today Show," has come forward to say she and Matt Lauer engaged in a consensual sexual encounter in the 2000 time frame -- but that she was a victim of his sexually harassing nature just the same. Maybe. But let's be clear. Adultery is not the same as sexual harassment. Published December 16, 2017

Catholic Church pressed to lift celibacy, dime out confessing abusers

The Catholic Church, as everybody knows, has a problem with its priests preying on little children, and with its higher-ups covering up the sexual abuse scandals. So a new report in Australia is recommending the church lift its celibacy requirements for the diocesan clergy -- the idea being that if these members of the church could have sex with, say, wives, they wouldn't be chasing after the choir boys. This makes practical sense. Published December 15, 2017

J.K. Rowling, ‘Harry Potter’ fame: God is a black woman

J.K. Rowling, the author of the "Harry Potter" series that was made into several movies, weighed in on the Alabama Senate election to say that Roy Moore, who spoke of how God was in control during his explanation to supporters about his refusal to concede, was indeed correct -- God was definitely in control. It was her next statement that raises eyebrows. Rowling, in a tweet, added: "What [Moore] didn't realise was, She's black." Published December 15, 2017

Doug Jones — and Donald Trump’s life just got a lot harder

President Donald Trump has been beating a dead horse in Congress for almost a year now, trying to pass his agendas legislatively through a Senate that's dominated by Republicans yet consistently falls to Democratic Party will because of an ever-looming threat of filibuster. It's only going to get tougher for Trump. Prepare for the stalled and even dropped legislation. Published December 14, 2017

Mike Huckabee on non-conceding Roy Moore: ‘Best to exit with class’

Mike Huckabee, former Arkansas governor and presidential hopeful, sent a pretty blunt message Roy Moore's way Wednesday, telling the failed Senate candidate it was well past time to concede. "Roy Moore won't concede; says will wait on God to speak," Huckabee tweeted. "God wasn't registered to vote in AL but the ppl who voted did speak and it wasn't close enough for recount." Quite right. Donald Trump’s right — by the numbers, media hate him

A new study showed that in September, October and November, almost 91 percent of remarks from reporters' and other so-called non-partisan-types' mouths during evening ABC, NBC and CBS broadcasts were anti-Trump in nature. Ninety-one percent. That's pretty dang significant. That's an outright media blitz -- a war even. Published December 13, 2017

Roy Moore loss not a commentary on Donald Trump

Roy Moore may have denied all the sexual misconduct and harassment charges that plagued his long and dark campaign -- but apparently, voters couldn't move past the shadows, and Democrat Doug Jones won. Democrats are no doubt poised to spin the Moore loss as some sort of stunning commentary on President Donald Trump. But that'd be folly. Published December 13, 2017

Investors flush with $26 trillion to strong-arm corporations on climate change

Beware. President Donald Trump may have put a stop to America's participation in the Paris accord, citing its burdensome regulatory climate change mandates and cost-hiking economic downers. But a plot afoot at the Paris climate summit would moot Trump's action and make most of America a participant in the accord, anyway. Published December 12, 2017

Jimmy Kimmel’s shameless cart of kid to stage as political prop

Jimmy Kimmel, who'd been missing in action from work for a week, made a triumphant return to the late-night stage with his little 7-month-old son Billy, who'd just finished with a long heart surgery ordeal. That'd be fine -- touching even -- if Kimmel hadn't then took a slight turn down Propaganda Lane and started preaching the pros of taxpayer-funded health care and cons of the conservatives who still resist it. Colleges push hard for Christ-free Christmases

College administrators around the country, it seems, are rushing to acquiesce to even the most minor of voices on campuses to make sure the "C" word -- that's "C" for Christmas, shhh! -- doesn't cause angst in some offended student's ears. Basically, they're driving hard to drive out the reason for the season, Jesus Christ. Published December 12, 2017

New York City terror, the ‘new normal’ for America

New York City was in rush-hour chaos Monday, as an ISIS-inspired terrorist detonated an improvised explosive device -- a pipe bomb affixed to his body with wire tie-type fasteners -- in the heavily traveled Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. And with that, officials started selling the idea that this is now part of American life. Published December 11, 2017

Donald Trump accusers band to demand Congress investigate

The scores of women who've accused President Donald Trump of sexual harassment have banded together to demand Congress look into their accusations. Let them be heard. They have a right to speak out as much as the next person. Published December 11, 2017
