End 2024 by going to war: How to fast for spiritual breakthrough

Fasting is hard because self-denial is hard (discipline), and overindulging is not rewarding (regret). It becomes a never-ending cycle of defeat unless we break the cycle by choosing discipline over regret as we seek the will of God.

Pope kicks off Jubilee year, preaches Christmas peace

An aging and frail Pope Francis began what may prove to be the most ambitious year of his papacy with a passionate call for global peace and unity even as conflicts around the world intensify.

Hanukkah celebrates the miracle of a holy oil lasting for eight days and the heroism of the Maccabees who fought to save ancient Israel from an invading nation. Parallels between first Hanukkah and today are striking reminder of God’s provision

With Hanukkah this year coming at the same time as Christmas, it is a wonderful reminder for us all -- Christians and Jews -- that God's light continues to shine through the darkness, and He continues to perform wondrous miracles which we still witness, and pray for, each day.
