Overlooking the Kansas City skyline, Harry Truman's library is located in Independence, Missouri and was dedicated in 1957. Exhibits in the library paint a picture of Truman's life by way of photographs, documents, memorabilia, and film clips. The library also includes a full replica of the Oval Office, a feature which has since been imitated in numerous other presidential libraries. Truman was known for his deep attachment to the library, where he spent much of his time participating in day-to-day operations. He personally trained museum docents, answered telephones, and even conducted tours and mock press conferences for visitors.
