U.S. adults providing long-term care for elderly relatives have a shortage of medical training but plenty of commitment, according to a new poll. The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research survey found that nearly half of caregivers provide some medical care, from changing bandages (30 percent) to inserting catheters or feeding tubes (6 percent).
