The Chechen Republic ( Noxçiyçö), sometimes referred to as Ichkeria, Chechenistan, Chechnia, Chechenia or Noxçiyn, is a federal subject of Russia. It is located in the southeastern part of Europe, in the Northern Caucasus mountains, in the North Caucasian Federal District.
