2. David Ortiz, Boston Red Sox (2013) led the "cursed" Red Sox to three World Series titles batting .289/.404/.543 in 85 career postseason games and a torrid .455/.576/.795 in three Fall Classic triumphs. Facing a 2-1 deficit, Big Papi delivered three hits apiece in Games 4 and 5. The Cardinals then intentionally walked him three times in Game 6, leading to a three-run double from Shane Victorino. Although Carlos Beltran robbed him of a Game 1 grand slam, Ortiz finished the six-game series with 11 hits, eight walks, two doubles, two home runs and a 1.948 OPS, Ortiz had a batting average of .688. Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz holds up the MVP trophy while being interviewed after Game 6 of baseball's World Series Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, in Boston.
