A Royal Marine, known as Marine A, was convicted Nov. 8, 2013, by a court martial board of that murder partly on the evidence inadvertently recorded by another soldier only identified as Soldier B. Marine A shot the injured Afghan national, who had attacked his base, in the chest at close range with a 9mm pistol before quoting a phrase from Shakespeare as the man convulsed and died in front of him.
