In 2014, Kums husband Sothy Kum allowed an acquaintance to pay him to send marijuana to his house. He was convicted of possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and served a year in prison. He was later detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and deported in April 2018. Sothy Kum is a Cambodian refugee who left the country as a child.
