Michael Kaiser (left) "ushered in a golden age at the Kennedy Center," say the co-chairmen of the search committee to find his replacement as president of the performing arts institution. On the job since 2001, his contract expires next year. That "golden age" now sees women heading two of the center's major tenants the Washington National Opera led by Francesca Zambello (above) and the Washington Performing Arts Society led by Jenny Bilfield.
