Hall of Famer Frank Robinson was honored by President George W. Bush with the Presidential Medal of Freedom Award at the White House in 2005. Robinson, the first black manager in Major League Baseball, died on Thursday. He was 83. He had been in hospice care at his home in Bel Air, Maryland.
