Rooney Mara is an American actress. She made her screen debut in the slasher film Urban Legends: Bloody Mary (2005) and went on to have a breakout role in the independent coming-of-age drama Tanner Hall (2009), followed by roles in the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street and the biographical drama film The Social Network (2010). Mara was born and raised in Bedford, New York, a town in Westchester County. Mara's mother's family founded the Pittsburgh Steelers and her father's family founded the New York Giants. Her father, Timothy Christopher Mara, is the vice president of player evaluation for the New York Giants, and her mother, Kathleen McNulty, a part-time real estate agent. (AP Photo/Mark Mainz)
