Haiti fixes adoption system, but some fear too few adopted
In this May 8, 2015 photo, Anne-Marie Saintou shows a snap shot of her daughter Mikerline Boussicot, center sitting in front of a birthday cake decorated with six candles, that came to her from the orphanage that arranged her daughter's adoption, inside her home in Arcahaie, Haiti. Saintou gave her daughter with the understanding that she would get an education and come back. Saintou says she's received three packages of photos in the 12 years since she last saw her daughter, given to her from the orphanage that arranged the adoption. The last one came in February of 2010 and included a letter written by her daughter. Four years later she went to the orphanage to try to reestablish contact, but all the orphanage told her was that she should pray. (AP Photo/Dieu Nalio Chery)
