Russian President Vladimir Putin said he wants Vice President Kamala Harris to win the November election.

Speaking on Thursday at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia, Mr. Putin said he will be doing what President Biden recommended to all of his supporters.

“We previously said Biden was our preferred candidate. So now we will do as he said, we will support her,” the Russian president said, according to Politico.

Mr. Putin both praised one of Ms. Harris’ most famous tics and reiterated a point former President Donald Trump often makes in deriding what he calls the “Russia. Russia. Russia” obsession among Democrats and the mainstream media.

“Second, she laughs so expressively and infectiously. That means that she is doing well,” he said. “Trump has imposed more sanctions on Russia than any president has imposed before, and if Harris is doing well, then perhaps she will refrain from doing this kind of thing.”

His comments come after Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian TV reporter Pavel Zarubin in an interview that they prefer Democrats because they are “more predictable.”

“And what Putin said about Biden’s predictability applies to almost all Democrats, including Ms. Harris,” Mr. Peskov said last weekend.

The comments also come a day after the Biden administration accused Russia of a wide-ranging effort to disrupt U.S. politics with misinformation by way of unwitting American social media “influencers,” mostly pro-Trump conservatives.

The FBI announced Wednesday that it seized nearly three dozen internet domains, federal prosecutors brought charges against two media executives and the Treasury Department froze assets of 10 people and two Russian outfits that federal officials say were involved in the covert operation.
