Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Monday wished the nation’s workers a happy Labor Day and unleashed a series of attacks against his rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.
Mr. Trump said American workers “represent the shining example of hard work and ingenuity,” and his policy vision lifted them during his time in office.
“Under Comrade Kamala Harris, all Americans are suffering during this Holiday weekend - High Gas Prices, Transportation Costs are up, and Grocery Prices are through the roof. We can’t keep living under this weak and failed ‘Leadership,’” Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social.
On Monday, Ms. Harris planned to campaign in Detroit and then team up with President Biden for a rally in Pittsburgh, putting her in a couple of battleground states that could decide the election.
Mr. Trump, meanwhile, has no Labor Day events on his public schedule.
In his online post, Mr. Trump said that Harris’s record is far different from his success during his first term in office.
He said workers made the nation an “Economic Powerhouse” under his leadership. He touted his administration’s revamping of free trade deals and investment in job training programs.
“But Kamala and Biden have undone all of that,” he said. “When I return to the White House, we will continue upon our successes by creating an environment that ensures all workers, and businesses, have the opportunity to prosper and achieve their American Dream.”
