A relaxed Donald Trump joked about being targeted earlier this week by a would-be assassin on Fox News host Greg Gutfeld’s late-night talk show Wednesday.

Asked by Mr. Gutfeld about his golf game, the former president replied, “I always said golf is a very dangerous game.”

Just three days earlier, the 78-year-old Republican candidate for president was whisked off a golf course near his Florida home after a Secret Service agent spotted a rifle barrel on the perimeter of the course and opened fire.

Suspect Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was arrested after fleeing the scene and is at the center of another assassination attempt investigation, just over two months after a different sniper nearly killed the former president in Pennsylvania with a shot that grazed Mr. Trump’s ear.

Mr. Trump seemed undaunted by another brush with death.

Mr. Gutfeld jokingly asked, “If they had told you that the shooter was there, would you have tried to take him out with your three wood?”

“I think so,” the former president said, “I think so,” drawing some chuckles from Mr. Gutfeld and a Trump-friendly studio audience.
