Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump shook hands again Wednesday, on the morning after their debate, upon arriving at the Sept. 11, 2001, anniversary ceremony in New York.

Ms. Harris, who was standing between Sen. Charles E. Schumer of New York and President Biden, reached over to shake hands with Mr. Trump, who was standing next to former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Mr. Trump put his hand on top of Ms. Harris’ hand and whispered to her.

The friendly greeting came less than 12 hours after the pair met for the first time at the presidential debate in Philadelphia. The Tuesday night handshake between the two marked the first time they had met in person, and ended an eight-year streak of no handshakes on a presidential debate stage.

Mr. Trump, Ms. Harris and Mr. Biden will also be attending the 9/11 anniversary ceremonies in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, later Wednesday, though it’s unclear if they will be there at the same time.
