Former President Donald Trump said his assassination attempt on July 13 was caused by Democrats’ rhetoric about  him.

He accused President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris of “weaponizing” the government.

“This is the one that weaponized. Not me. She weaponized,” Mr. Trump said of Ms. Harris Tuesday night. “I probably took a bullet to the head because of the things that they say about me.”

He went on to say that “they talk about democracy — I’m a threat to democracy.”

“They’re the threat to democracy,” he said, referring to the attempt on his life at a rally in Pennsylvania.

The shooter was killed by Secret Service. Investigators have not uncovered a motive yet.
