Former President Donald Trump said Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, are for the “execution” of babies up until and after birth.
“Her vice presidential pick says abortion in the ninth month is absolutely fine,” Mr. Trump said at the debate Tuesday night in Philadelphia. “He also says execution after birth — it’s execution, no longer abortion because the baby is born — is OK, and that’s not OK with me.”
He then said he did what everyone wanted — return the issue of abortion to the states by overturning Roe v. Wade.
“Look, this is an issue that’s torn our country apart for 52 years. Every legal scholar, every Democrat, every Republican, liberal, conservative, they all wanted this issue to be brought back to the states where the people could vote, and that’s what happened,” he said.
He also said he is open to exceptions in cases of rape, incest and to save the life of the mother.
ABC News moderator Linsey Davis fact-checked the former president, saying it is not legal in any state to kill a baby after it is born.
