Donald Trump wondered about a potential comeback of President Biden as the former president attacked Vice President Kamala Harris for the recent decline in her poll numbers.

“Comrade Kamala Harris goes to an ultra Left Wing, Trump Hating, spice shop, which I hear has terrible, overpriced product, and calls for ‘unity.’ As people begin to realize that she is a Marxist, FAR MORE LIBERAL than Crazy Bernie Sanders, or even Elizabeth ‘Pocahontas’ Warren, her poll numbers are beginning to crash,” Mr. Trump posted Monday on Truth Social.

“Who are they going to put in next? How about a Biden comeback?” Mr. Trump said.

A recent poll from The New York Times and Siena College showed Ms. Harris 1 point behind Mr. Trump among likely voters. The poll comes ahead of Tuesday’s debate.

The poll shows the first time the vice president has seen a drop since she entered the race after Mr. Biden dropped out and endorsed her.

Ms. Harris visited Penzeys Spices in Pittsburgh over the weekend.

Her visit drew some criticism for the store from Republican voters since the brand is known to dislike Mr. Trump.

Its website has an “About Republicans” page written by CEO Bill Penzey where he talks about the “slow decline” of the GOP.

“The truth of our time is we’ve arrived at the point where there’s no way to respect the nonsense the Republican Party is promoting and have any hope of overcoming the problems we as a nation and we as a planet face,” he wrote.

Still, he maintains “there is no hate in any of this.”

“I actually like and respect most of you guys. Sure, there are a growing number that are there for the racism, but I still believe the majority of you have good hearts that want to help and do the right thing. I know you to be trustworthy, and honest, and funny, and caring, and good souls,” he wrote. “The problem isn’t what you are; the problem is what you are now voting to support. You guys have been turned around.”
