Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday said President Biden is still sore over being ousted from the race and is secretly bitter about Vice President Kamala Harris, despite endorsing her to top the Democratic ticket.
“I’ll tell you a lil’ secret. He hates her. He can’t stand her,” Mr. Trump said from the debate stage in Philadelphia.
Mr. Trump opined on Mr. Biden’s feelings as part of a discussion about the sanctity of elections and democracy.
The former president said Democrats are the main threats to democracy, given that Mr. Biden ran in the Democratic primary and was shown the door.
“He got 14 million votes. You talk about a threat to democracy,” Mr. Trump said.
Mr. Trump unloaded on Democrats who ousted Mr. Biden after Ms. Harris accused her Republican rival of being unable to grasp electoral math.
“Donald Trump was fired by 81 million people, so let’s be clear about that. Clearly, he is having a very hard time processing that,” Ms. Harris said.
Ms. Harris said it is deeply troubling that Mr. Trump seems unable to grapple with his 2020 loss, and it is reverberating overseas.
“World leaders are laughing at Donald Trump,” Ms. Harris said.
