Members of a bipartisan House task force investigating the Trump assassination attempts emphasized during their first hearing that the Secret Service, not local authorities, was responsible for the security failures that led to a gunman opening fire on former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

Trump is set to go back to the site for a rally on Oct. 5th.

Two members of Congress who were trained snipers in previous careers said Trump should not hold a second rally at the Butler Farm Show grounds because of the myriad security concerns with the site, including several buildings that border it.

Lindsey McPherson is tracking the story.
