Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan has denied a request from gun advocates to block a California law banning gun shows from state property.
The denial Friday was on a request from a group that organizes gun shows at county fairgrounds in California, who asked the high court to halt a lower court ruling in favor of laws restricting the buying and selling of guns on state property.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the challengers, reasoning the law did not meaningfully burden their Second Amendment rights.
The pro-gun challengers had hoped the high court would block the lower court’s ruling so already scheduled events wouldn’t be interrupted.
The case is B&L Productions v. Gavin Newsom.
