Former first daughter Ivanka Trump won’t join her father in the final days of the campaign, her husband Jared Kushner said.
When asked by The New York Times if there’s any chance she would be showing her face, Mr. Kushner said “zero.”
“[Ms. Trump] made the decision when she left Washington that she was closing that chapter of her life. And she’s been remarkably consistent,” he said.
He said that whether Mr. Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris wins Tuesday, he doesn’t see “a major shift in terms of what we prioritize.”
Both Ms. Trump and Mr. Kushner held positions in the first Trump administration. Ivanka, Mr. Trump’s oldest daughter, served as a senior adviser and director of the Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurship. Mr. Kushner also served as a senior adviser.
“We’re rooting for him — obviously, we’re proud of him,” Mr. Kusher told the outlet. “But, you know, either way, our life will just continue to move forward.”
When Mr. Trump announced for reelection in 2022, Ms. Trump said she wouldn’t be involved.
“While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena,” she said.
The lack of public support from Ms. Trump and Mr. Kushner has been noticeable, especially since they were so involved during Mr. Trump’s first term.
While Mr. Trump’s two oldest sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, have maintained their public role in his campaign, former first lady Melania Trump, youngest daughter Tiffany Trump and youngest son Barron Trump have joined Ivanka in mostly remaining out of the spotlight.
