Joe Rogan says Kamala Harris’ campaign had requirements for a podcast interview that he didn’t want, namely leaving Austin, Texas, for a site of her choice.
“For the record the Harris campaign has not passed on doing the podcast,” Mr. Rogan wrote on X Tuesday. “They offered a date for Tuesday, but I would have had to travel to her and they only wanted to do an hour. I strongly feel the best way to do it is in the studio in Austin.”
He added, “My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being. I really hope we can make it happen.”
Harris campaign spokesman Ian Sams said last week that the interview with Mr. Rogan wasn’t working out because of scheduling conflicts.
This comes after Mr. Rogan had former President Donald Trump on his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience,” last week where they talked about the 2020 election, Ms. Harris and comments about him from former administration officials.
The interview spanned three hours in his studio.
During the interview, Mr. Trump said Ms. Harris couldn’t handle being on the podcast.
“If she did this kind of an interview with you, I hope she does, because it would be a mess. She’d be laying on the floor. Comatose. You’d be saying, ’Call in the medics,’” the former president said.
Mr. Rogan responded, “I could imagine her doing this show. She was supposed to do it. And she might still do it. And I hope she does. I will talk to her like a human being. I would try to have a conversation with her.”
