The Washington Times recently reported that 8% of independent voters are still undecided about which presidential candidate they will choose (“Donald Trump gains slight edge over Kamala Harris in Georgia,” web, Oct. 22).

As an independent voter, I can’t for the life of me see how anyone could ignore the lies Vice President Kamala Harris has told or how she stabbed President Biden in the back with her sudden candidacy.

With no evidence to support her accusations against Donald Trump and his supposed hatred for our country, Ms. Harris is going public with hearsay, spouting it as though it were some kind of proof. As a former prosecutor, she would know hearsay is not admissible in a court of law, thus the need for evidence.

Anyone who thinks a pathological liar like Ms. Harris will keep her word after the election is as naive and gullible as the day is long.

All you have to do to see as much is look at her record, which is a blank page. She didn’t secure the border. She lied about Mr. Biden’s deteriorating state of mind. She watched the debacle in Afghanistan — during which 13 military personnel were killed — and told a reporter she felt comfortable with the withdrawal decision.

Lest we forget, she also stood by and allowed thousands of Americans to die from overdoses of fentanyl, which came through our borders on her watch. But the most heinous of her crimes was standing with Mr. Biden as she and he committed treason by adhering to, aiding and comforting a sworn enemy — Iran — by giving it billions of our tax dollars to buy hostages.

If undecided voters had half a brain, they would see who the real threat to democracy is — and it isn’t Mr. Trump.
