Donald Trump was joined at a Texas campaign stop by a mother whose young daughter was killed by illegal immigrants, which she described as the horrific consequences of the Biden-Harris administration’s “open border policy.”
Asked to share her story, Alexis Nungaray, the mother of murdered 12-year-old Jocelyn, who was found dead in a creek, pinned the blame on the White House, saying their lenient approach to immigration turned her daughter into a “target.”
“She was just being a child, and due to the Biden-Harris policies we have here are why she is not here anymore,” Ms Nungaray said, with Mr. Trump at her side in Austin, Texas. “Now I will forever be a grieving mother, and my son will forever be a grieving brother who will no longer get to grow up with his sister.
“Kamala Harris has never reached out to me — just even as a human to give her condolences,” she said.
Mr. Trump is closing the race with a hard message on immigration, which has become a catchall for his candidacy and a major vulnerability for Ms. Harris.
He pledged to launch the biggest deportation effort in the nation’s history. He wants to impose mandatory 10-year prison sentences for repeat border jumpers and the death penalty for any migrant convicted of murdering U.S. citizens.
“I will stop this nightmare immediately,” he said.
The National Border Patrol and the Fraternal Order of Police are backing Mr. Trump.
Looking to stop the bleeding, Ms. Harris has tried to project a more formidable image on the border and traveled there late last month to call for stricter asylum restrictions.
Mr. Trump, who says the damage has already been done, has been highlighting the stories of families who have lost loved ones to illegal immigrants while President Biden and Ms. Harris have been calling the shots.
On Friday, Mr. Trump also drove home the point that Ms. Harris could be meeting with those families but instead was traveling to Texas to “rub shoulders with woke celebrities.”
Ms. Harris has a campaign event Friday in Houston with pop icon Beyonce.
“She is not going to meet with any of the victims of migrant crime while she is here,” Mr. Trump said, standing in front of a backdrop that read “Deport Illegals Now” and “End Migrant Crime.” “She will not peak to the grieving mothers for whom she has stolen the brightest light of their life.”
“She has no remorse at all for the innocent blood that is on her hands,” he said.
Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, both Venezuelan natives in the country illegally, have been charged with murdering Jocelyn Nunagaray. She was allegedly strangled and sexually assaulted.
Mr. Martinez and Mr. Ramos had been in custody but were released by federal immigration authorities with a notice to appear in court.
Mr. Trump said the story is an example of how Ms. Harris has turned Texas “into ground zero for the largest border invasion in the history of the world.”
“Over the last four years, this state has become Kamala’s staging ground to import her army of migrant gangs and illegal aliens criminals into every state in America — paving a trail of bloodshed, suffering, and death all across our land,” Mr. Trump said.
