Former President Donald Trump criticized Fox News after the network announced it would interview Vice President Kamala Harris.
“Lyin’ Kamala Harris has wisely chosen Bret Baier, of FoxNews, to do a much needed interview, because he is considered to be ’Fair & Balanced,’ though often very soft to those on the ’cocktail circuit’ Left,” Mr. Trump posted Monday on Truth Social.
“I would have preferred seeing a more hard hitting journalist, but Fox has grown so weak and soft on the Democrats, constantly polluting the airwaves with unopposed Kamala Representatives, that it all doesn’t matter anymore. Hopefully, the people will understand on Nov. 5, and Early Voting. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he wrote.
The network said Monday that Ms. Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, will sit down for an interview with Fox News’ chief political anchor Bret Baier. It will air on “Special Report” at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Baier posted Monday on X that there were “no preconditions to get the interview,” it will be pretaped and there will only be “minimal” editing. He also wrote that only he will know the questions ahead of time.
The skepticism about the interview conditions comes from previous mainstream media interviews with Ms. Harris that have been criticized for being edited.
This is the first time Ms. Harris will sit down for Fox. The interview comes as her campaign has faced criticism for not doing more interviews. Lately, she’s chosen to do a mix of interviews, like CBS’s “60 Minutes” and the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
