Wind from Hurricane Milton on Wednesday sent a construction crane crashing into a St. Petersburg, Florida, office building that hosts the Tampa Bay Times and other businesses.
No injuries were reported from that collapse or as a result of roof damage at Tropicana Field, home of Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays, St. Petersburg officials said in a release.
The area around the crane will remain closed until further notice, city officials said in a subsequent update.
The crane is part of a construction site for the Residences at 400 Central, a planned 46-story luxury condominium.
The building that was struck had closed Wednesday before the storm made landfall, so no one was working in the Tampa Bay Times newsroom at the time of the incident.
