Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz gave a rare compliment to Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio on the debate stage Tuesday night, saying that he has acknowledged that there’s a climate problem, before moving on to hit former President Donald Trump.

“Sen. Vance has said that there’s a climate problem in the past,” said Mr. Walz, Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate. “Donald Trump called it a hoax and then joked that these things would make more beachfront property to be able to invest in.”

He went on to say how climate change affects the farmers in Minnesota.

“They see 500-year droughts, 500-year floods back to back. But what they’re doing is adapting,” Mr. Walz said.

“So the solution for us is to continue to move forward,” he said. “That climate change is real. Reducing our impact is absolutely critical.”
