Pop icon Britney Spears lost some hair, eyelashes and eyebrows in a fireplace mishap, she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post Monday.
She said the accident happened six months ago.
“I was in my room and I turned the fire on and, all of a sudden, it blew up in my face. … I always get my security to come in and light it for me because I was scared it was going to blow up. But this time, I just threw the whole thing in there and it blew into my face,” Ms. Spears said in an attempted British accent in the deleted video, preserved and uploaded online by TMZ.
She then explained that, despite considering going to the emergency room due to pain in her face, she settled on taking three Tylenol and going to bed.
“It hurt to even touch my phone. It hurt to put ice on my face. It hurt anything to just touch it. And so this lasted for like six or seven hours. It happened 3 o’clock in the morning and the pain never went away,” she said.
This was not the first time fire had Ms. Spears saying “oops!” In 2020, candles burned much of her home gym, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.
