Former President Donald Trump told his supporters Tuesday to vote for him “no matter how long it takes” as Americans cast their ballots in a tight and fraught election.
Mr. Trump has constantly said in rallies that this is “the most important day in American history.”
“That means lines are going to be long! I need you to deliver your vote no matter how long it takes. STAY IN LINE!” he posted on X. “The Radical Communist Democrats want you to pack up and go home.”
Mr. Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are locked in a statistical tie before poll results pour in Tuesday night. It might take multiple days to declare a winner.
The path to 270 electoral votes and the White House is expected to run through seven battlegrounds: Arizona, Georgia Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Mr. Trump plans to watch the results at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida while Ms. Harris monitors the results from Howard University in the District of Columbia.
“Election Day is here. Today, we vote because we love our country and we believe in the promise of America,” Ms. Harris said on X.
