Former President Donald Trump said Robert F. Kennedy Jr. would play a “big role” in his administration if he won a second White House stint.

Talking to NBC News in a phone interview Sunday, Mr. Trump said Mr. Kennedy, who ran for president as a Democrat and then an independent before dropping out earlier this year, is a “very talented guy and has strong views.”

He said that Mr. Kennedy, known for his opposition to vaccination and other public health stances, would work on “health and women’s health.”

Two sources familiar with the campaign told NBC that Mr. Kennedy might have a role in combating “chronic childhood disease.”

When asked about Mr. Kennedy’s plan to take fluoride out of drinking water, Mr. Trump told NBC the idea sounded “okay to him.”

“You know, it’s possible,” he said.

On Saturday, Mr. Kennedy wrote on X that on Jan. 20, “the Trump White House will advise all U.S. water systems to remove fluoride from public water.”

“Fluoride is an industrial waste associated with arthritis, bone fractures, bone cancer, IQ loss, neurodevelopmental disorders, and thyroid disease. President @realDonaldTrump and First Lady @melaniatrump want to Make America Healthy Again.”

In the post he tagged Michael Connett, an attorney who has brought lawsuits saying fluoride should not be added to drinking water.
