“President Kamala Harris” might still happen.

Calls for President Biden to resign, which would make Ms. Harris the president for the next two months, grew again Wednesday, adding popular left-leaning pollster Nate Silver to the mix.

Mr. Silver made his call over Mr. Biden’s mental competence, citing his avoidance of reporters and the war in Ukraine.

“Is there any particular reason to assume Biden is competent to be president right now? It’s a very difficult job. It’s a dangerous world. Extremely high-stakes decisions in Ukraine. He should resign and let Harris serve out the last 2 months,” he wrote on X.

Mr. Silver, 46, shot to fame as a pollster in the mid- and late 2000s for his pioneering use of state-level polls to predict the presidential race and developing subsequent computerized models.

His latest model predicted a narrow win for Donald Trump, causing much derision and hatred from liberals and progressives, despite being one himself.

Other progressives have called on Mr. Biden to resign, citing his mental decline and even describing it as a consolation prize for Ms. Harris and a breaking of the glass ceiling — the United States has never had a female president.
