When people used to tell Logan Cain, of the contemporary Christian music trio CAIN, that their kids loved his music, he sort of took offense. After all, one doesn’t dream about becoming an award-winning recording artist with the goal of making “childish music.”

But over time, Mr. Cain began to realize that God was using the trio’s catchy tunes to help instill timeless truths in people of all ages, completely altering his definition of success.

“I just felt like I got this new sense of purpose,” Mr. Cain recently told The Washington Times’ Higher Ground. “I had such high ideals of myself as a songwriter, but I’m realizing that really the ability to equip and empower young people to sing God’s truth over themselves, even before they understand it, that goes such a long way.”

CAIN burst onto the Christian music scene in 2020 with their debut single “Rise Up (Lazarus),” for which they won a K-LOVE Fan Award for Top Breakout Single. Since then, the trio has been nominated for multiple other awards, performed with big names like TobyMac, Zach Williams, and Casting Crowns, and even released a documentary series, “Chasing CAIN,” on the TBN app.

The group’s popularity multiplied by epic proportions when their single “I’m So Blessed” became a viral success on social media in 2022, winning over many young fans.

“I think that our music, this song in particular… it’s all this recurring theme where God is showing us, like, I really want to get this message to this generation and I would love for you to be a part of it if you’d like to be,” said Mr. Cain, who shares the stage with his two sisters, Madison Cain Johnson and Taylor Cain Matz. “So, it’s like really fun that God’s letting us get to do it and all these like clever ways.”

One of those ways is the release of an “I’m So Blessed” children’s book, which harnesses the message from their hit song to create a lyrical picture book with bright and playful illustrations. The book not only entertains young hearts and minds but provides an opportunity for parents to introduce Christian truths to their kids in a powerful and long-lasting way.

“I hope that people will incorporate this book into their time together and then ultimately, I hope kids 15, 20 years from now, maybe they’re in a tough spot and they’re in conflict or they’re under stress and they can remember, like, all my best days and my worst days, I’m still a child of God,” Mr. Cain noted. “The blessings are not the things around me, but the thing that’s within me, the blessed assurance that Jesus is mine.”

And as for Mr. Cain, he now sees the group’s ability to appeal to fans of all ages as an “incredible honor,” that brings fulfillment and hope to his life in a way he never imagined.

“Jesus’ ministry is the most successful thing ever because it has never ended. And I think that the longstanding legacy of what you do with your life through your kids, and now I’m getting a chance to do it with like other people’s families,” he said.  “That to me is like the highest achievement of success that we could achieve is that we do something that is able to sort of ride the coattails of the gospel of Jesus and last in people’s lives so much more than any sort of like plaque or thing you can like hang on the wall.”
