The death of musician and producer Quincy Jones, who died at 91 on Nov. 3, was due to pancreatic cancer.
Jones’ cause of death was not disclosed immediately, but his death certificate from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health noted that he died of pancreatic cancer, according to TMZ.
The death certificate said that Jones had been dealing with cancer for years and listed no other factors as a cause, according to CNN.
Jones was laid to rest at a private family ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday.
His family, including his daughter, actress Rashida Jones, said in a statement that they were “enormously grateful for the outpouring of condolences and tributes from his friends and fans from around the world” and that a public celebration of Jones’ life would be announced at a later date, according to Rolling Stone.
Jones’ career spanned decades and included collaborations with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Donna Summer and the “King of Pop” Michael Jackson, for whom Jones produced the hit albums “Thriller,” “Bad” and “Off The Wall.”
