OPINION:
Democrats acknowledge that they lost the election, but they don’t seem to understand why.
They fail to see that the American people enthusiastically embraced Donald Trump because they’re sick and tired of the misery Democrats continue to inflict upon our country.
They’re tired of a party that leads with lies, propaganda and a message of hate and division, tired of a party that allows us to be beaten down by unchecked illegal immigration, crime and a government that has been weaponized against political opponents and citizens.
They’ve had it with out-of-control government spending and taxes and the inflation these things produce.
As Tim Murtaugh indicates in “How and why Trump won” (web, Nov. 7), the Democrats just can’t seem to figure out how and why Mr. Trump was able to put together a winning coalition unlike no other and beat them in a landslide.
A coalition of Black, White and brown, young and old, Christian, Muslim and Jewish, these hardworking Americans are just trying to make a living, buy groceries, put gas in their cars and keep a roof over their family’s heads. They wanted free and fair elections and the ability to choose their own candidates, not the candidates anointed by the political and Hollywood elites.
Most importantly, they wanted a fighter who truly believes in them, our country and capitalism.
It all seems so obvious why voters flocked to Mr. Trump and the Republicans in record numbers, but the Democrats appear to still be clueless as to why. The American citizens have spoken and are saying “Stop the madness.”
