OPINION:
The numbers are trickling in, and between the presidential elections of 2020 and 2024, President-elect Donald Trump saw dramatic increases in support at the ballot boxes from Hispanics, youth and Black people — traditionally all voters who stick with Democrats.
This has the Democrat Party trembling in its big black boots.
But it’s not rocket science. Democrats are bleeding voters because they’re not making it clear why voters should elect Democrats. What do Dems stand for, anyway? The Make America Great Again principles are unifiers. A prosperous economy, a healthy job market, a safe and secure border bringing a safer and more secure community, and a world at peace are ideals embraced by all people of all skin types.
Democrats talk as if they desire these things. But they don’t walk as if they do. Instead — and this has been their mistake for years now — they spend the bulk of their time trying to show why their political opponents are horrible people, filled with horrible ideas, and that these horrible people ought to be wiped off the face of the earth. It’s the same narrative Hamas uses against Israel, by the way.
Democrats are parrots.
“Democrats call Trump racist,” The Center Square wrote in August.
“More 2020 Democrats calling Trump a ‘white supremacist,’” ABC wrote in 2019.
It never changes. It hasn’t changed in years.
But Democrats, when they spew such vitriol, forget the fact that even Hispanics have to buy groceries. They ignore the fact that even Black voters have to pay to heat their homes and fill their gas tanks. They turn blind eyes to the fact the younger generation of voters don’t dream of living in their parents’ basement for their entire lives and would rather purchase a home at interest rates that don’t cripple their ability to also buy food, never mind furniture.
MAGA principles speak to these realities.
But even post-election, the head-scratching from the left continues.
“Radio and podcast host and proud Kamala Harris supporter Charlemagne tha God was blindsided by the numbers showing that President-elect Donald Trump received a third of support among minority voters,” Breitbart wrote.
And the quote from him went like this: “No, really?”
Quite.
Quite really.
AP VoteCast reported 16 percent of Black people voted for Trump this time around, compared to 8 percent in 2020. Forty-two percent of Latino voters picked Trump in 2024, up from 35 percent in 2020, AP VoteCast also found. But that may be lowballed. Edison Research found a 14 percentage point swing in Trump’s share of Hispanic voters between 2020 and 2024, from 32 percent to 46 percent. Meanwhile, Reuters wrote, “Trump won 43 percent of voters age 18 to 29 — 7 points more than in 2020.”
Inflation, inflation, inflation.
Try as Democrats did, they just couldn’t sell the narrative that abortion was the top issue of concern, and that Trump along with all the MAGA Republicans, would have women in America back in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant, if voters didn’t pick the right candidate. Turns out, “Abortion rights support didn’t always translate into Harris support,” as CBS News wrote, post-election.
From NPR: “[D]ata from VoteCase, a large survey of U.S. voters conducted by The Associated Press and other partners … found that about 3 in 10 voters in Arizona, Missouri, and Nevada who supported the abortion rights measures also voted for Trump.”
And all the Democrats go whoops.
As it happens, killing an economy while pretending not to have killed the economy, and simultaneously screaming about the rights of pubescent girls to whack off their breasts and proclaim they’ve become boys, a la LGBTQ cry — turns out this isn’t the winning election platform after all.
It’s good news that Americans of all skin colors have jumped on the Trump train to cast ballots for Republicans to head up this nation’s policies and political corridors for the coming years. It means America is far more united in American principles than the media would have believed; than Democrats would have believed; than the Marxists who’ve taken over the Democrat Party would have believed.
It means America the free still has a chance.
It means Americans of all walks of life, from all manners of upbringing, from all political persuasions, actually do still hold fast to the idea of working for one’s family and raising one’s children without cradle-to-grave handouts and redistributions of wealth and stimulus checks.
It means more and more Americans are awakening to the fact that the Democrat-socialist-communist manner of governing doesn’t work. And that’s good news for all of America because it means the spirit of independence and individualism that gives rise to this nation’s exceptionalism is not yet dead.
The MAGA movement caught up a few more in this recent political contest.
And it’s increasingly clear, MAGA is more American than Democrats like. Americans are more united by MAGA than Democrats can accept. Trump’s win of both popular and electoral votes wasn’t just a mandate from the people to govern. It was a cease and desist order given to the Democrats to abandon Marxism and get on board the MAGA train. The American spirit still soars free.
