OPINION:
A new Democrat campaign ad voiced by Julia Roberts shows a woman smiling sheepishly at her MAGA husband as she walks to the voting booth, makes eye contact with another woman — a la bonds of sisterhood stare — and then colors in the circle by Kamala Harris-Tim Waltz. Oh, she’s a sneaky, wascally wabbit, that one. Who let her out of the house, anyway?
“Did you make the right choice?” — her clueless redneck of a husband asks.
“Sure did, honey,” she says, slyly smiling at her little secret.
All the while, Roberts’ voice is softly playing in the background: “You can vote anyway you want. And no one will ever know. In the one place in America where women still have a right to choose … Remember. What happens in the booth, stays in the booth.”
Roberts, the actress made famous by playing a lovable prostitute who never failed to floss. Helen Reddy, hear the roar!
It’s a real “woman power” moment, where the barefoot and pregnant are finally freed from the chains of servitude and reminded: hey, you ain’t gotta cook for that man no more. You gots the vote!
Oh joyful day. What’s next, women drivers?
Gag.
This ad is beyond condescending. But then again, the story line plays right into how Democrats regard women who dare to vote conservative, who dare to appreciate MAGA principles, who dare to support Donald Trump as president.
“[About] Donald Trump — you never see him around strong, intelligent women,” as Harris-backing Mark Cuban said.
Nope.
“They’re garbage,” as Joe Biden said — of Trump supporters of all sexes, of which, by the way, note to Democrats, memo to the lunatic fringe left, there are only two.
Truthfully told, noted conservatives’ response to the Roberts ad is almost as gag-worthy as the ad itself.
“If I found out [my wife] Emma as going to the voting booth and pulling the lever for Harris, that’s the same thing as having an affair,” said Fox News host Jesse Watters.
Only ostensibly while still fully clothed. And not having sex. And not engaging in any adulterous behavior. But other than that — the same.
But the bigger story is the Democrats’ view of women.
Democrats say they support women’s rights — but only when women walk the pro-abortion, pro-LGBTQ, Big Government, anti-godly, anti-God, far-leftist and Marxist agendas.
Women already know they have the right to vote.
They don’t need to be told they do.
They don’t need to be reminded they can vote as they choose, even if it means selecting a candidate their husbands don’t like.
That Democrats actually think this ad is a benefit for Harris only reveals their true views of women in America: that women voters are too stupid to think for themselves and they need an outside entity telling them what to do, how to act, what and how to think.
