In the New York court show starring former President Donald Trump and adult entertainer Stormy Daniels, Ms. Daniels claimed she was paid off prior to Mr. Trump’s running for president in 2016 due to his activity with her in 2006 (“Stormy Daniels’ steamy testimony isn’t expected to sway the presidential race,” web, May 8).

The payoff was for his alleged adult interaction with her. Mr. Trump denied that. Whether it’s true or not, this is not an issue for the courts, nor is it an issue that should have anything to do with Mr. Trump’s campaign for president. It’s his personal business, not the business of the entire country. The presidency of “the Donald” was marked by a thriving economy, low inflation, tight border security, and relative domestic and international peace.

Since this nonissue of his alleged affair with Ms. Daniels has come to court, it’s plain to see our two-tiered justice system is on a fishing expedition without any bait.
