Law enforcement is examining the death of actor Matthew Perry last October, trying to determine how the “Friends” star acquired the ketamine found in his system and identifying who supplied him with the drug.

Perry, who died at 54 after a long history of addiction, was discovered dead in his hot tub in Los Angeles. A toxicology report revealed that he had ketamine, an anesthetic commonly used in surgical procedures, in his system.

Sources told TMZ that local law enforcement and the Drug Enforcement Administration are involved in the probe.

Key individuals in Hollywood, especially those with a known history of drug use, have been interviewed as part of the investigation.

Initial reports suggested Perry drowned, but the toxicology findings confirmed he died due to the acute effects of ketamine.

The actor, who was single and had no children, discussed his battle with addiction in his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.” He revealed that he went to rehab 15 times and underwent 14 surgeries to address stomach damage caused by alcohol and opioid use.

In 2018, Perry faced a near-fatal gastrointestinal perforation, which left him in a coma for two weeks and hospitalized for five months. He required a colostomy bag for nine months as part of his recovery.

In his 2022 book, Perry disclosed that he had spent close to $9 million on sobriety treatments. He had reportedly been free from drugs and alcohol since May 2021.
