Former President Donald Trump’s lawyer-turned-accuser Michael Cohen said Monday a producer is trying to pitch a TV show about him.
Mr. Cohen, sitting for a marathon cross-examination in Mr. Trump’s hush money trial, said his TV contact inquired about sending a crew to New York to film a teaser for the show, titled “The Fixer.”
“Has it been picked up?” Trump lawyer Todd Blanche asked.
Mr. Cohen said no — at least not yet.
The exchange occurred during a portion of the cross-examination that focused on Mr. Cohen’s ability to turn a profit from Mr. Trump’s legal troubles and the former fixer’s role in prosecuting his ex-boss.
Mr. Cohen is the star witness in a case that claims Mr. Trump, through Mr. Cohen, paid hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels near the 2016 election and engaged in an illegal scheme to conceal the nature of the payments.
Mr. Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records.
Mr. Blanche has repeatedly suggested Mr. Cohen has a financial stake in hurting Mr. Trump. The lawyer asked Mr. Cohen if he would earn money off the TV show.
“Yes, sir,” Mr. Cohen said.
