Rep. Jasmine Crockett launched a collection of “swag” that will feature the comments she made in her argument with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and raise money for Democratic candidates.
Ms. Crockett, Texas Democrat, wrote in an X post that the collection will be called “A Crockett Clapback Collection.”
“This collection will feature various swag that includes random things I’ve said. The money will go to ensuring that we have a Democratic House! Give me a little time to really get the swag online etc., but B6 will drop first,” she wrote.
“If you have things you want to see come to life let me know. Post graphics or just phrases that you want to see.”
The post included a picture of a T-shirt that says “Bleach Blonde Bad Built Butch Body,” which is how she referred to Ms. Greene in the House Oversight Committee hearing last week.
Chaos erupted at the hearing after Ms. Greene, Georgia Republican, said that Ms. Crockett’s “fake eyelashes” were messing up what she was reading.
After Ms. Greene refused to apologize, Ms. Crockett hit back with her own comment about Ms. Greene’s appearance.
“I’m just curious, just to better understand your ruling,” Ms. Crockett asked Chairman James Comer, Kentucky Republican, about why he had not cited Ms. Greene.
“If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blonde, bad-built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?” she asked with a touch of sarcasm.
Ms. Crockett said the comments made by Ms. Greene during the Thursday night vote to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress, were racist.
Both Ms. Greene and Ms. Crockett have said that they don’t regret their comments.
