Elon Musk’s Twitter has officially become X after finally switching over from twitter.com to X.com this week.
On Friday, users were greeted by a message confirming that the site’s URL had changed to X.com.
“We are letting you know that we are changing our URL, but your privacy and data protection settings remain the same,” the message reads.
Mr. Musk chimed in to confirm the change.

Despite X.com being named the official URL for the site, the original twitter.com address remains functional.
The change comes nearly a year after Mr. Musk, the owner, changed the name of Twitter to X.
Upon the switch, the company was hit with lawsuits alleging that another firm already owned the X domain. Late last year, X Social Media, a legal marketing group, sued X over copyright infringement.
