Former President Donald Trump’s team shot back at a Mother’s Day ad dropped by President Biden’s reelection campaign, calling it “disgusting.”

In a roughly 40-second ad released by the Biden-Harris HQ on its X page Sunday, the Democratic campaign hits Mr. Trump on his family separation border policy and his stance on abortion.

Donald Trump wants to separate mothers from their children and allow laws that rip away IVF access and monitor women’s pregnancies,” the post said with the ad. “This Mother’s Day, do the moms in your life a favor: Stop Trump.”

The ad features clips of the former president talking about his family separation policy while president, and his views on abortion, including his recent interview with Time Magazine where he said states could monitor women’s pregnancies to see if they’ve had abortions.

“This is how Trump treats mothers,” the ad reads.

“What a sad, miserable, cowardly existence Crooked Joe Biden and his campaign must have to make sure a disgusting ad on such a joyous day,” Steven Cheung, a Trump spokesman said in a statement reported by Newsweek. “Their lives are obviously filled with anger, hate, and resentment because they clearly suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome. President Trump continues to live rent free in their pea-sized brains, even on Mother’s Day.”

Biden-Harris spokesperson Lauren Hitt said in a release, “the stakes of this election are high for all Americans, but especially moms across our country who will suffer under a second Trump term.”

“Families depend on moms – and moms deserve a president they can depend on to protect their rights, work to lower their costs, and fight for them,” she said. “Donald Trump wasn’t and isn’t that president, but Joe Biden is.”
