President Biden says the 2020 election changed Donald Trump and now the former president is “clearly unhinged.”

“It’s clear that … when he lost in 2020, something snapped in him,” Mr. Biden said Saturday at a private fundraiser in Medina, Washington, according to CNN. “He’s not only obsessed with losing in 2020, he’s clearly unhinged. Just listen to what he’s telling people.”

The president also admitted that he knows that polls are showing the election to be close, even though he said his team feels “good about the state of the race.”

A Real Clear Politics average of polls shows that Mr. Trump is leading Mr. Biden in national polls by a little more than 1 percentage point.

The fundraiser in Washington state was held by former Microsoft executive Jon Shirley.

As he was finishing his remarks, Mr. Biden said he would try his “best not to disappoint” his supporters.
