TV legend Oprah Winfrey will hold a live sit-down talk among medical experts, herself and patients about weight loss drugs on ABC on March 18, the network announced Thursday.
The special will include patients from around the country and a slew of doctors: W. Scott Butsch of the Cleveland Clinic, ABC News medical correspondents Jennifer Ashton and Darien Sutton, and Amanda Velazquez from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
A day after the show airs on TV, it will be uploaded for streaming on Hulu.
“It is a very personal topic for me and for the hundreds of millions of people impacted around the globe who have for years struggled with weight and obesity,” Ms. Winfrey said in the ABC release.
On Feb. 28, WeightWatchers, now called WW International, announced she would not run for reelection to the board of directors and would donate her company stock to the National Museum of African American History and Culture in the District of Columbia.
